How to Clean a Moss Wall

Our moss walls are not only unique eye-catchers but also completely maintenance-free. However, there may be times when you want to lightly clean the moss. In this blog, we explain how to do that safely and effectively — without damaging the moss.

No Maintenance Required

Our moss is preserved naturally. It doesn't require water, light, or nutrients. This makes our moss walls particularly suitable for any space — even without daylight or a green thumb.

Dust-Free Thanks to Antistatic Properties

Our moss walls are antistatic, meaning they naturally repel dust and dirt. Even in busy areas or places with high air circulation, the surface remains surprisingly clean.

Want to Remove Dust? Here's How

If you do want to remove some dust, for example after renovations or years of use, you can use one of the following methods:

  • Hairdryer on cool setting: Gently blow over the moss to remove dust without scrubbing or rubbing.
  • Vacuum cleaner on lowest setting: Use a small nozzle and keep a slight distance from the moss.

Both methods are safe as long as you work carefully and avoid direct contact with the moss.

White Haze on the Moss?

Over time, a white haze or faded appearance may occur. This is caused by crystallized natural salts — a normal phenomenon with naturally preserved moss.

You can easily fix this:

  • Fill a spray bottle with water
  • Lightly and evenly mist the moss

The salts dissolve back into the moss, and its original color is restored.

No Cleaning Agents or Maintenance Contracts

Our moss paintings remain beautiful for years — no chemical cleaning, no maintenance contracts, and no additional costs. It’s a natural, sustainable solution for green wall decoration.
