Warranty and Legal Terms

At Mossobject.com, we stand behind the quality of our products. We therefore provide an additional commercial warranty alongside consumers' statutory guarantee rights.

This commercial warranty covers the material, manufacturing, construction and fastening defects described below. The guarantee does not mean that natural materials such as moss will remain unchanged in colour, texture, softness or appearance throughout the entire guarantee period.

Warranty periods

The following commercial warranty periods apply to our products:

- Ready-made moss artworks: 10 years
- DIY products, adhesive and loose moss: 2 years
- LED and neon components: 2 years
- All other products: 2 years, unless stated otherwise

The warranty period starts on the date of delivery.

This commercial warranty is in addition to consumers’ statutory warranty rights and does not limit those rights.

Statutory warranty rights

As a consumer, you are entitled to receive a product that conforms to the contract and meets what you may reasonably expect from it.

If a product does not conform to the contract, your statutory rights apply, including, where the applicable legal conditions are met, repair or replacement free of charge.

Our commercial warranty is separate from these statutory rights. Statutory warranty rights may therefore continue to apply even after our commercial warranty period has expired.

10-Year warranty on ready-made mossartworks

Mossobject.com provides a 10-year commercial warranty on ready-made mossartworks manufactured by Mossobject.com for demonstrable defects in materials, production, construction or fastening that are attributable to us.

This includes, for example, moss becoming detached without any external cause due to a demonstrable defect in our adhesive or staple fastening, as well as demonstrable manufacturing or construction defects in the backing or frame.

Natural characteristics of moss

- Our mossartworks are made from real, preserved moss. The moss is no longer living and does not require water, nutrients or sunlight.
- Moss remains a natural product. Variations and changes in colour, shape, texture, thickness and appearance may therefore occur.
- Discolouration, fading and natural changes to the moss are not covered by our commercial warranty.
- Preserved moss responds to humidity. At higher humidity levels, it may become softer, while at lower humidity levels it may become harder, drier or more rigid. This is not a manufacturing defect.
- We recommend maintaining a relative humidity of approximately 40% to 60%.

Touching and damage

Under normal use and without external impact, moss should not simply fall out of a moss picture. During production, the moss is carefully glued, stapled and/or secured using another suitable method.

However, moss can be damaged or break off as a result of touching, pressing, pulling, picking, rubbing or impact. Dry and harder moss in particular may be more sensitive to this.

Damage or detached moss resulting from touching or other external impact is not covered by our commercial warranty.

If moss becomes detached without any external cause due to a demonstrable defect in our original fastening, this may be covered by the warranty.

Jungle walls and foliage

Leaves, plants, branches and other decorative greenery incorporated into jungle walls, moss walls and mossartworks are not covered by our 10-year commercial warranty.

These materials may discolour, dry out, deform or become damaged over time. If desired and where reasonably possible, we can replace, touch up or retouch these materials for an additional charge.

Preservative leakage or dripping

Natural materials used in jungle walls may have been treated with a preservative.

Significant or repeated fluctuations in humidity and/or temperature may cause some of this preservative to seep out of the leaves and drip.

Droplets may come into contact with floors, walls, furniture or other materials and may cause stains that can sometimes be difficult to remove. Any droplets should therefore be removed as soon as possible. In many cases, they can be carefully removed using water and mild soap. Always check first whether the affected surface is suitable for this type of cleaning.

The seepage or dripping of preservative caused by temperature, humidity or other environmental influences is not covered by our commercial warranty.

To the extent permitted by law, Mossobject.com shall not be liable for stains, discolouration or other consequential damage resulting from the release of preservative due to external environmental influences. This provision does not restrict consumers' statutory rights.

For jungle walls, we recommend maintaining as stable an indoor climate as possible and a relative humidity of approximately 40% to 60%.

Frame and backing

Wood, MDF and other wood-based materials may expand, contract or otherwise move as a result of moisture, humidity and temperature.

Warping, expansion, shrinkage, deformation or cracking caused by moisture, condensation, temperature fluctuations, a damp surface or other external conditions is not covered by our commercial warranty.

A demonstrable manufacturing or construction defect that was not caused by external conditions may be covered by our warranty.

2-Year Warranty on Other Products

We provide a 2-year commercial warranty on DIY products, adhesive and loose moss for demonstrable defects in materials and manufacturing.

For DIY products, the customer is responsible for correct processing, application and the suitability of the surface. Damage caused by incorrect processing, application or external conditions is not covered by the commercial warranty.

LED and neon components supplied by us are also covered by a 2-year commercial warranty. This also applies when these components are incorporated into a moss picture or moss wall. The 10-year warranty on the moss picture itself therefore does not extend the warranty period for LED or neon components.

All other products are covered by a standard 2-year commercial warranty, unless stated otherwise.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The following situations, among others, are not covered by our commercial warranty:

- normal wear and tear and natural ageing;
- discolouration and natural changes to moss and other natural materials;
- moss becoming harder or softer due to humidity;
- leaves and other decorative greenery used in jungle walls;
- seepage or dripping of preservative caused by environmental conditions;
- damage caused by touching, pulling, pressing, rubbing or impact;
- incorrect use, processing or installation;
- alterations or repairs carried out by third parties;
- damage caused by moving or relocation;
- damage caused by moisture, water, leakage or condensation;
- damage caused by unsuitable or significantly fluctuating temperatures or humidity;
- deformation of the frame or backing caused by external conditions;
- damage or discolouration caused by direct sunlight or UV radiation;
- damage caused by fire, flooding or other external circumstances;
- damage or changes to products intended for indoor use that are placed outdoors, under a canopy, on a veranda or in a garden room and are thereby exposed to weather conditions, moisture, condensation, temperature fluctuations or UV radiation.

These exclusions apply to our additional commercial warranty and do not limit consumers’ statutory rights.

Use and Maintenance

For an optimal lifespan, we recommend indoor use unless otherwise stated, a relative humidity of approximately 40% to 60%, as stable an indoor climate as possible and installation against a dry and suitable wall or surface.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, strong UV radiation and placement directly next to strong sources of heat or cold. Touch the moss and decorative materials as little as possible.

Warranty claims

If something is not as it should be, please contact us and provide your order or invoice number, a description of the issue and clear photographs.

If necessary, we may request additional information regarding, for example, installation, processing, humidity, temperature and the surface or substrate.

If the defect is covered by our commercial warranty, we will provide an appropriate solution free of charge, such as repair, restoration or replacement.

When repairs involve natural materials, the colour, texture and shape of the replacement material may differ slightly from the original material.
