Untreated fresh & moist sphagnum moss (peat moss) – natural and ready to use
Our fresh & moist sphagnum moss, also known as peat moss, is a 100% natural and untreated product. The moss is carefully harvested and supplied fresh and moist. No preservation, processing or artificial additives: simply pure, natural sphagnum, ready to use.
Fresh sphagnum has a soft and airy structure with a very high water absorption capacity. It can absorb up to 20 times its own weight in water. This allows it to retain plenty of moisture while maintaining an open structure around plant roots.
This makes fresh and moist sphagnum particularly popular with plant enthusiasts, growers and terrarium builders for applications where a moist and natural environment is required.
What can fresh & moist sphagnum moss be used for?
• Cuttings and plant propagation
Ideal for rooting cuttings. The sphagnum is supplied already moist and can be used immediately.

Perfect as a natural filling for moss poles. Climbing plants such as Monstera and Philodendron can attach themselves to the moist sphagnum.

Important to know
Sphagnum moss naturally contains very few nutrients and is mainly used as a base or supporting material. Plants requiring additional nutrients should be fed separately.
This sphagnum moss is fresh, moist, untreated and has not been preserved. It is therefore different from the preserved, maintenance-free moss we use for our moss wall art.
The moss is supplied fresh and moist and is ready to use. Check the moisture level before use and gently squeeze out any excess water if necessary.
As this is a completely natural product, colour, moisture level, structure and composition may vary between batches. The sphagnum can be naturally green, yellow-green, light brown or a natural mixture of these colours. Small twigs, fibres or other natural material may also be present. This is completely normal for genuine, untreated sphagnum moss.
The natural colour may change during storage and use. This is normal for untreated natural material and does not automatically mean that the moss has lost its moisture-retaining properties.
For longer-term use, we recommend keeping the sphagnum sufficiently moist. Where possible, use rainwater or reverse-osmosis water.
Sustainability and origin
Our sphagnum moss is carefully harvested. Only the suitable upper part is collected, allowing the growing area the opportunity to regenerate naturally.
Due to the natural character of this product and our competitive prices, untreated moss cannot be returned.
