Fresh & moist sheet moss – untreated natural moss

Our fresh & moist sheet moss is a 100% natural and untreated moss harvested directly from nature. It is supplied fresh and moist and has not been preserved, coloured or chemically treated. Simply pure, natural moss with its original structure and natural green colour.

Sheet moss naturally grows in relatively flat, connected pieces, making it easy to cover larger surfaces and extremely versatile. It can be used in gardens and terrariums as well as Christmas arrangements, workshops and natural decorations.

Because this version is supplied fresh and moist, it generally has a fresher and greener appearance and feels softer and more flexible than dried sheet moss.

What can fresh sheet moss be used for?

Important to know

This sheet moss is completely untreated and comes directly from nature. Natural materials such as soil, pine needles, leaves, small twigs, roots and other organic matter may therefore be present in or underneath the moss. This is normal for a genuine natural product.

As the moss is neither treated nor sterilised, small living insects or other small organisms, such as ants, may occasionally be present. We therefore recommend checking the moss before use, particularly when it will be used indoors.

The sheet moss is supplied in a crate or polystyrene tray. The packaging may vary, but the quantity supplied remains the same.

As this is a natural product, individual pieces will not always be exactly the same size or thickness. Structure, colour and moisture levels can also vary between batches.

This version is supplied fresh and moist. The exact moisture level may vary depending on harvest time, season, transport and storage.

The colour is completely natural and may vary from fresh and light green to olive green with occasional brown areas. Brown areas and natural colour variations are not a product defect but are characteristic of untreated natural moss.

Using sheet moss in the garden

Fresh sheet moss is ideal for trying as natural ground cover or a green accent in the garden. For the best conditions, we recommend a shaded to partially shaded location with a moist surface. Where possible, avoid prolonged drying and intense direct sunlight.

Whether the moss actually establishes itself and continues to develop depends on factors including the moss species, soil, pH, location, moisture, temperature, light and weather conditions.

We therefore cannot guarantee that the sheet moss will establish itself, continue to grow or become permanently established in your garden.

Under favourable, moist conditions, the moss may appear greener and fuller. During dry or warm periods, it may become browner, drier and more fragile. These natural changes may continue throughout the seasons.

This sheet moss is not preserved and is therefore different from the maintenance-free moss used in our moss wall art.

It is genuine, untreated natural moss intended for gardens, terrariums, decorations, workshops and other natural and creative applications.
